Cultivating the Culture
This is my Nephew Michael Taylor, he is a typical 8 year old boy who digs his skateboard and bike, but also digs cool cars and motorcycles. When he heard I was going to clean up the Robert Munoz Rivi he wanted in bad. The car has been in the garage about 20 Plus years. So we washed her up and polished the chrome, the car looks 100% better and Michael really did a good job on the bumpers that's his brother Gabe in background also helping. He now has a sense of pride in his work and is looking forward to getting it running. Next on the list is drop the gas tank clean it out, clean carb, replace plugs and put a fresh battery in. We had a great Sunday afternoon together and I hope it inspires him in the car hobby. Stay tuned.

Uncle Beto and the Indian
This is a photo of my uncle Beto around 1946-48. Just Pryor to his service in Korea. He was a Golden Glove fighter out of Boyle Heights and would also fight on the Air Force boxing Team. Looks like he is on a 41 Indian Chief "Cut Down" these were the early days of chopping. Top photo is of either El Sereno Hills or Monterey Pass, both locations were used by local bikers for weekend Hill Climbs. Dig the dog bone risers and flanders bars.

One of East L.A.'s Finest
We Lost Robert Munoz last March to Parkinson's disease. Couldn't have asked for anybody better to take care of Mom and he couldn't ask for any better as well. Robert also gave to a Garfield High school scholarship program for most of his life. First photo is of his neighborhood on 2nd st. E.LA. circa late 40's. The rest are of his service in Germany and France post war 50's. Robert was like every other guy, he dug cool cars and Hot Rods and had some nice ones. He is pictured next to a 51 Merc in the snow and would later drive one state side. Thank you and God Bless!
