F4U Corsair

When I was about 9-10 years old I was all about the Corsair my favorite WWII era fighter. Pappy Boyington made the Black Sheep squadron famous for shooting down Japanese Zero's at a alarming rate. I had the same picture of VMF 214 taped to my bedroom wall. The Japanese referred to this plane as whistling death because of the sound the wing intakes would make when it dove.
Power came from a 1805 hp. Pratt and Whitney 18 cylinder radial engine.
