VMF 214

Once in awhile I will stop in various second hand stores to take a quick look around.  If you know what your looking for you would be surprised at what you might find. I always check the used book section for History or auto/moto related books. So this time I find a first edition of  Col. Pappy Boyington's  book Ba Ba Black Sheep published in 1958. The story  is of his career in the Marine's as a pilot and leader of the famous Black Sheep Squadron.
What I wasn't expecting were the original newspaper clippings found in the pages.  The articles were printed in the Valley Times, a old San Gabriel Valley paper. Boyington lived here in his post war years.  Whoever owned the book had some kind of close connection to him or the squadron. The lower paper clipping speaks about some kind of domestic violence issue with his later divorced wife.
